Our long term goal is to create entertaining and accessible African history content for kids AND adults which creates a richer understanding of the world around us and ignites a passion for the rich history of Africa.
MEET THE TEAM
The Lymari Team is a talented mix of storytellers, entertainment pros, and scholars whose goal is to make African history exciting for all.
Christian Jones (Co-Founder) is a self-proclaimed seeker of truth, knowledge and wisdom. An 8-year NFL vet and currently a Linebacker for the Chicago Bears, Christian has a passion for world history, with a focus in ancient African history studies. He’s also an anime geek who loves a great Netflix binge of his favorite series.
Liz Jones (Co-Founder) was a Journalism major, with experience in advertising working in celebrity brand activation, and has a passion for wellness as a Pilates instructor. She enjoys writing, traveling, fashion, and watching documentaries. She considers herself a fitness and mental-wellness junkie of which learning about your true self.
Chris Walker (Creative Director) is a Marvel and DC veteran whose had the pleasure of working on many of his favorite childhood characters. Seeking further creative expression, Chris has worked in advertising as a Creative Director and Brand Strategist on brands such as McDonald’s, AT&T, and Honda. Chris’s love of culture and comic books inspired him to create Urbanime, an urban lifestyle comic book company.
Dr. Shamika Mitchell (Research & Culture) is a writer, educator, philosopher, editor, and scholar. Shamika has a love of Hip Hop, American literature, comics, popular culture, ethnicity, identity, and subjectivity that she shares with the team and is the creator of #SalaamFandom, an initiative to celebrate and uplift Muslims in all aspects of fandom.
